Learn the different ways to watch anime on other devices.

Which playback method?

You can watch your downloaded media files on other devices in two ways:

External player link: Let Seanime open your files using a media player app
Web: Using transcoding/direct play with the built-in media player in the browser

You can stream torrents on other devices with the use of External player link.

On the device you want to watch on, install a media player app that supports custom scheme links.
Follow the instructions below to set up the external player link for the player app.

Good to know

This works for downloaded media, torrent & debrid streaming.

Go to the Client Playback tab and choose External player link in the dropdown for either Downloaded media or Torrent streaming or both.

Troubleshooting tip:

Make sure your browser allows popups.

Play your media files as usual and Seanime will open the media player app with the file.

Automatic progress tracking doesn't work with external player links.

You can find the custom scheme for other apps by searching online or checking the app's documentation.

External player links also work with other desktops, though the setup might be more complex.

Torrent/Debrid streaming with MPV Android

MPV Android has issues playing streams, use VLC Android instead.
